General Questions

Experience a festive season like no other! Lumagica is a holiday experience of lights, and a magical celebration of all things festive with:- breathtaking twinkling lights and light features; lots of interaction and surprises galore for kids of all ages; various festive characters (including Santa); live music; local artisan market; seasonal food and drink options, and so much more.

This is a mainly indoor experience with an outdoor festive stroll component through Snow Fun Land, The Ice Queendom and Gingerbread Lane, before heading inside to the warmth of the North Pole Village. Make Lumagica your next holiday tradition, we have a myriad of family-friendly activities perfect for everyone in your crew.

We have designed the event to be accessible for all, including wheelchairs, assistive walkers and strollers. The outdoor pathway is fully paved.

Guests can stroll through Snow Fun Land, Ice Queendom and Gingerbread Lane with hot cocoa, mulled wine, coffee, fresh donuts, and snacks. Inside, you can eat, drink and be merry in the North Pole Village with a full food and drink menu of gastronomic delights – see link here to Menu

Yes, our venue is fully licensed.

Parking is free, and parking attendants will greet and direct you to the nearest parking lot within the Cloverdale Fairground complex. Disabled parking is available adjacent to the Lumagica entrance. The car park closes at 10.30 pm.

There is a short outdoor stroll, so that you are not out in the cold for too long. This may take approx. 20-30 mins. Keep warm with hot cocoa as you admire the fascinating light installations, play and interact with some of our light displays, and linger at our photo points for a few pictures. There is also a small heated outdoor seated area to enjoy hot drinks and snacks while kids are playing. The indoor area houses the North Pole Village which includes Santa’s cabin, the Elfies play Palace, candy land, live music, artisan market, and dining experience. Most people will stay at the event for approximately two hours, although there is no time limit.

Time slots ensure that you have an optimum experience at Lumagica and can soak up the festive atmosphere without overcrowding. Most people will stay at the event for approximately two hours.

Yes, washrooms are available adjacent to the car park, prior to entrance and inside the Agriplex building.

Unfortunately, no dogs or pets are allowed at the event, with the exception of service dogs.

Lumagica will be open in all weather conditions, even when it rains. However, this year we have shortened the walk to a leisurely stroll, so that time outdoors is not too long and the outdoor area is more sheltered.  Please be aware of this before purchasing a corresponding ticket.

We do recommend warm and weatherproof clothing. As we have an indoor and outdoor space; we recommend dressing in layers and comfy Christmas sweaters are encouraged.  See website for our Ugly Sweater Competition!

Yes, photos with Santa are free and can be taken with your phones.

Ticketing Questions

Join Lumagica’s ‘nice-list’ to learn about seasonal promotions and events at Lumagica.

Ticket refunds are not permitted; however, guests may transfer their tickets to an alternate date or alternate ticket holder.

Tickets will be available for purchase at the park during the event. Our tickets sell out fast, so to secure your date and time, we suggest pre-purchasing your tickets online.

Pre-sale tickets also enable:

  • Streamlining admittance procedures at the event to keep wait lines to a minimum.
  • Guests to choose the most convenient date and time of their visit.
  • Operating our event within the PHO and CDPP guidelines (if required) by being able to manage the number of people at the event at any given time.

All guests, with the exception of children under 4 years and ACCESS 2 Card Carers. You must bring either a printed copy or display the ticket on your phone. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

If for reasons beyond our control, we are forced to cancel the event, you will be offered an alternative date. We will communicate any cancellations by 2 pm on the day of the event. You will be notified by email with your options. This is an indoor and outdoor event, and cancellations will not be offered in the case of poor weather.

We continue to work within BC health guidelines (to be prepared in case of an increase in COVID cases, which we hope will not happen). Tickets will be sold in thirty-minute time slots, and you should endeavour to arrive as close to your ticket time as possible. If you are more than 20 mins late, we cannot guarantee access to the park due to crowd capacity limits.

Yes, attendants holding an Access 2 card have FREE admittance when accompanied by a guest they are caring for. Please present the card at entry to event.
